I like that it has a full zip from side to bottom and that opens on each end. Since it isn’t safe to have loose blankets in the crib with your baby, this is a great way to keep baby covered and warm without any danger. This is a perfect way to transition out of the swaddle since it still has the spot in the center to mimic your touch but babies arms are free. I am looking forward to trying this Zen swaddle to see if it helps baby sleep even better! (which I think it will)Īnother thing I like is that the velcro on this swaddle isn’t like traditional velcro, it is much less scratchy and yet it seems to hold even stronger than traditional velcro. Have you heard of the moro reflex (also known as the startle reflex)? Nested Bean has a great article about that here. Because the swaddle is made of cotton it has quite a bit of stretch. So basically its supposed to mimic the sensation of mama holding the Captain. Like many parents who’ve used the Nested Bean Zen Swaddle we love how soft the cotton swaddle is. It puts light pressure where the baby would feel if being held. I am all about swaddling my babies to sleep and it has worked wonders for getting my babies to sleep for long periods. Therefore, the Zen Swaddle combines the benefits of swaddling and touch to provide a time-tested and truly safe, secure environment for your baby. I love that this has the spot on the center to mimic touch (egg) and also each side is slightly weighted to mimic touch as well. Both are very soft fabric and seem like a baby would love to be wrapped up or surrounded by them. I can’t try out these products with my baby just yet, but Nested Bean sent methe 2 products so I could see what they are all about and feel the quality. I love the idea behind these products and it totally makes sense that having a swaddle and sleep sack that mimic touch would help a baby to sleep better. It is really all I can think about these days, so I was very excited when I heard about Nested Bean and their Zen Sleep System. I am getting so excited to meet my sweet little bundle of joy in Nov.
